REVELSTOKE! Girls Day Out


Something happens at Girls Day Out, it’s almost unexplainable. As an organizer I create a framework for the weekend event consisting of skiing, coaching, lunches and a prize give away. I hire coaches who have accomplished things greater than themselves and continue to do so every season. These coach’s plant seeds within every attendee encouraging them to make the jump, honor themselves and believe that they can do it.

This weekend at Revelstoke Mountain Resort was no exception and I would like to thank everyone who made this event unexplainably unbelievable.

Revelstoke Camp- Agenda

This weekend at Revelstoke Mountain Resort should be all time! In the last 7 days the resort has recieved close to a meter of new snow.

Saturday Jan.28th: Day 1-

• 8:15-8:45 Registration at ROC (Revelstoke Outdoors center at the base of RMR near guest services)
• 9:00 Meet at base of the Gondola: Introductions, breaking into groups
• 9:15 Free Skiing
• 12:00-1:00 Lunch at the Rockford Grill and sports psychology workshop
• 1:00- 3:30 Skiing-Coaching

20 Instructions for Life by The Dalai Lama

1.Take into account that great love and great achievements involve great risk.

Meet the Rad Boob ladies!

What is the Rad Boob calendar? The calendar was started by a group of female skiers in Golden, BC who created their own group to challenge the local Rad Dudes club. As the RBC increased in members, girl power decided to use the platform to raise money for charity. The Rad Boob club has put together a 2012 calendar that showcases North Americas best female skiers with all the profits going toward the non-profit Live it! Love it!  http://www.liveitloveit.org/ which helps promote the progression of Adaptive Adventure and provide outdoor recreation opportunities for the disabled, started by our very own GDO coach, Izzy Lynch.

Zoya Lynch

 

Girls Day Out’ers, I would like to introduce you to GDO’s cinematographer Zoya Lynch. I had the opportunity to get creative and goofy  around the slopes of Revelstoke Mountain Resort yesterday (which was also my birthday).
