We’ve also included a downloadable PDF field guide, your perfect pocket companion for quick on-hill reference as you translate these techniques to the terrain.

Community Zoom Sessions

As part of your purchase, you will also receive exclusive access to four live community Zoom sessions led by a certified Girls Do Ski coach. These live video sessions are designed to help you ask questions, receive personalized real-time feedback on the course and connect with others who are on the same journey. 1-on-1 Coach Feedback

Looking for more support? We offer 1-on-1 virtual coaching sessions with a certified Girls Do Ski coach. This is where personalized feedback meets radical growth: you’ll submit videos of yourself practicing the course skills, and we'll provide expert, tailored feedback and technical analysis to refine your technique and accelerate your on-snow confidence.

The Curriculum

  • Establish your foundation by tuning into the power of your big toes and locating the "pads" of your feet for ultimate stability.

  • Build the "foundation of your house" by aligning your ankles, knees, and upper body to stay strong in changing terrain.

  • Master the pressure required to turn through "magic hands" drills and "power plow" progressions that build trust in your skis.

  • Learn to link turns and embrace the scary middle section of the turn where skis go straight downhill.

  • Increase your terrain confidence by training your eyes to look ahead and keeping your chin up to cue confidence in the body.

  • Create style and efficiency by separating upper and lower body movements, keeping your "heart pointed down the hill”.

  • Refine your technique using wrist-flick pole plants as a "gear shift" to navigate bumps and initiate smooth turns.

  • Support your mindset with professional tools like drop-in routines, visualization, and befriending your "inner coach".

  • Learn to regulate and reset your nervous system to maintain your confidence on the mountain.

  • Integrate every skill into your skiing while remembering to be gentle with yourself and using the "3.2.1 Having Fun" mental reset.

Why This Isn’t Your Typical Ski Lesson

The Nervous System Advantage: STANCE goes beyond traditional coaching by recognizing that your nervous system is your most essential piece of gear. STANCE bridges the gap between technical skill and the mental blocks that can hold you back on the mountain.

Linear Technical Progression: Our unique curriculum builds your skiing from the big toes up to your eyes for a rock-solid foundation. You will master the mechanics of the GDS Coaching Rubric to handle complex terrain with newfound precision and style.

Training the Fear Response: We treat fear as a skill to be trained rather than an obstacle to be ignored or suppressed. You will gain a set of tools designed to navigate "yikes" moments with calm, intentional action and resilience.

Mindful Mountain Mastery: Move away from "just sending it" and discover the power of mindfully descending even the most challenging lines. This program transforms how you move and think, empowering you to ski every run with grace and curiosity.

Leah Evans she/her

Leah, founder of Girls Do Ski and professional skier, lives for time in the mountains. Driven by a long-held goal to see more women+ confidently claim their place in skiing, she built this course from years of coaching and personal athletic pursuit. Leah’s teaching focuses on a growth mindset—helping skiers develop skills, resilience, and confidence both on the snow and off. She hopes the tools and guidance here help you progress toward the skier you want to become.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • This program is designed for intermediate to advanced skiers who are ready to transition from groomed runs to off-piste freeskiing terrain. It is perfect for women+ who feel "stuck" at a certain level or find that fear holds them back when the terrain gets steep or bumpy.

If you want to understand the why behind your technique and build a mindful, rock-solid foundation, this course is for you.

  • The course is structured into 10 foundational modules, and we recommend focusing on one module per week to allow for proper physical and mental integration. Each module contains 3–5 on-snow drills that are designed to be integrated into your regular ski day, typically requiring about 1–2 hours of focused practice per week.

Because the course is self-paced, you can move faster or slower depending on your schedule and the conditions.

  • The online format allows you to digest the technical and mental aspects of skiing at your own speed, without the time commitment of a single-day clinic.

You have the luxury of repeating drills as many times as you need on familiar terrain until they become second nature. It’s the perfect way to build a "bank" of skills that you can then bring to an in-person camp or a big mountain day.

  • While the course is titled "Freeski Training," the technical skills you learn–such as outside ski pressure and body separation—will dramatically improve your carving on groomed runs as well.

These universal principles create a more efficient and powerful skier regardless of the terrain or snow conditions. You'll find that mastering these basics on mellow terrain is exactly what allows you to eventually charge harder off-piste, in the trees, and even in the backcountry.

  • By the end of this journey, you will have a much deeper understanding of how your body and mind work together on the snow. You can expect to feel more physically stable in your "Power Stance," more mentally resilient in challenging terrain, and more confident in your ability to pick and ski your own lines.

Ultimately, you’ll walk away with a permanent set of tools to continue your progression with grace, curiosity, and a focus on fun.

  • These sessions bring STANCE Online Freeski Training to life through group-based video analysis and connection.

You’ll have the opportunity to submit footage of your own skiing for potential review, where our coaches break down technique and provide specific cues for improvement. Even if your video isn't selected, watching these breakdowns provides invaluable visual learning that will help you identify and correct your own habits on the snow.

  • You will have lifetime access to the course materials so you can revisit the modules whenever you need a technical refresher.

Many students find it helpful to return to the foundational "Feet" or "Power Stance" modules at the start of every new ski season or after a long break between days on the hill to reset their habits. This allows you to grow with the course as your skiing evolves and your confidence increases over time.

  • The course is designed to be mobile-friendly so you can easily reference drills and cues while you're actually at the ski resort and while on the chairlift. We also provide a downloadable PDF that allows you to quickly refer to the course content and drills while on the hill. However, you will need cellular service or wifi to stream the videos while on the mountain.

We suggest reviewing the "How-To" videos on the chairlift or in the lodge before heading out for your practice laps to keep the technical cues fresh. This ensures you have the exact focus you need for your next run without having to memorize everything beforehand.

  • While this is a self-paced digital course, the video modules are led by Leah Evans, who guides you through every step of the GDS Coaching Rubric. For direct interaction, you can participate in community sessions where coaches break down submitted videos to provide group-wide learning.

If you are looking for dedicated 1-on-1 attention, we also offer virtual private coaching sessions for personalized feedback.

  • STANCE is a one-time investment that grants you lifetime access to the entire 10-module digital curriculum. This means you can return to the foundational "Feet" and "Power Stance" modules at the start of every season to reset your habits.

Your purchase includes all video tutorials, technical drills, and mindset tools, and access to the community Zoom sessions and recordings, ensuring you have a permanent library of coaching at your fingertips.
